Kinder Goat Bread Information

Kinder Goat is a breed that originated with the crossing of Nubian females with a pygmy male. That is why at the end of the 80’s, the result of this crossing resulted in the first small kinder goat.

From this first kinder litter, crosses were made with other breeds to create kinder goat, but to improve its characteristics. Likewise, there was another breeder who kept the breed without making crosses, since they valued the high feed conversion, in addition to producing a good quality milk.

From there arose the idea of creating a foundation that would breed and maintain this dual-purpose breed. This immediately attracted my attention, and that is why today there are around 50 recognized herds.

The Nubian race that gave rise to this breed is the one inherited by the genes for milk production. While the race of the pygmies was the one that supplied the qualities of the flesh, the muscles and the size of the race.

Characteristics:

Kinder Goat is a medium-dual-purpose breed, which is robust both in its legs and in its body. One of the demands made on this breed is that it has to maintain the standards that other breeds have in order to be able to opt for milking awards.

There are serious faults are considered in the females of this breed. One of them is which have udders that do not work, usually, the udders have to be canned, of great capacity. The udders can’t be too long. And they should have a smooth texture. This breed when they are newborns weights between 2 and 3 kilos.

And then the growth increases to the point that this breed gains 3 kilos per month. At 6 months weighs between 15 and 18 kilos. At 14 months of age, males reach a weight of 40 kilos. While the females, weigh up to 50 kilos. The litters produced by the females of this breed become twins, triplets.

Most likely, the year will produce 5 small goats. In addition, the height of the males reaches more than 70 centimeters. While that of the females becomes greater than 65 centimeters. The milk produced by this breed has specific characteristics, and it has a high-fat content and is sweeter than that of other breeds.

So it is perfect for milk production and cheese making. This race has a straight head, and some ears are quite broad and long. On the other hand, the loin is broad enough, and they do not have a thick covering of meat on top.

The legs are acceptable that they are thick but not with excesses of meat. They have a length of medium size.

Food:

Kinder goat feed on intensive grazing. They are totally herbivorous and can eat grass, weeds. However, breeders must add quality hay to their diet, as well as grains and cereals. The reason why breeders prefer to acquire and maintain this breed because in terms of food they are left alone.

Usage:

Kinder goat is a double purpose goat which is an excellent producer of milk and of good quality. And in turn has a good development and production of meat, which achieved by having an excellent feed conversion.

So, everything they eat, they transform into flesh. It also has a fairly docile and friendly temperament. That plus its size makes it ideal for production on small farms.

All these characteristics, together with the fact that they are a resistant breed and that they are thrifty at the time of feeding, making them one of the breeds to be chosen by the breeders.

Special Characteristics:

The goat kinder has a complexion and characteristics that adapt only to dairy goats. However, it has quite heavy bones, as well as being quite muscular. There are some characteristics that are not allowed in this breed and that is that they have a very long body, or that the legs are very short.

Something very good about the breed is that it has no mating season so they can procreate any season of the year. Being a race that has been 30 years this race has at least 5.000 individuals of this breed. That is why there are foundations that keep a book with records of the race.

And make improvements so that the race is maintaining. In addition to maintaining the pure race, since they do not register individuals who have other characteristics than a Kinder goat.

Something very positive about milk is that because of its high-fat content it becomes better and it serves to produce greater quantities of cheese than other breeds.
